The Verwood ladies softball team have had an amazing finish to the indoor season clinching the #1 spot in the 2nd division softball league! They went into their last match of the season in 2nd place, needing to beat the top team Ferndown by over 60 runs to get to #1...
With captain Ruth Miller scoring an impressive 41 run and taking 3 wickets, the team smashed it delivering a win of 361 to 292, giving them a narrow 13 run lead in the league overall!
The win is an absolute testament to all the hard work the ladies team puts in every Sunday and the support of their brilliant coaches. It's a team which has welcomed lots of new faces, almost doubling in size since this time last year.
